I always wanted a dress form for the studio yet, I could never find one. I created this dress form out of canvas, a floor lamp pole, and stuffing. That's right this is stuffed. I did not use a pattern but simply cut out the canvas, sewed it, stuffed it and attached it to the pole. It was a blast! I am considering this as a new art for for me to explore.
"Le Gauche Papillion" means "The Clumsy Butterfly". The name came about from a group of left over letters from a wall art project. French is my favorite language and even though I am not fluent. The studio has been moved twice and it takes on a new life each time. My weekends are spent in thrift and antique stores. Our entire house was created from secondhand items that have been repurposed. I am never afraid of something a that has wear and tear. To me it all salvagable!

Dress form or not?
