"Le Gauche Papillion" means "The Clumsy Butterfly". The name came about from a group of left over letters from a wall art project. French is my favorite language and even though I am not fluent. The studio has been moved twice and it takes on a new life each time. My weekends are spent in thrift and antique stores. Our entire house was created from secondhand items that have been repurposed. I am never afraid of something a that has wear and tear. To me it all salvagable!

Pedestal Pincushions

Pedestal pincushions and pedestal bowls.
I have been making the pincuchions for years. They have sachet inside them so that they release a smell each time they are used. It is my feeling that regular pincushions are too small and they eventually fall apart.
The bowls started life as wood salad bowls and the posts were cast off from someone who was making spindles for a stairway. Once they were nailed and glued I painted the entire piece one color and then added the doodadery!
